A fun tutorial to make Christmas Tree Hot Cocoa Bombs. These festive treats are made with colored coating wafers, filled with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows, and can be decorated with edible luster.
Wipe the cavities of the mold with a vinegar or alcohol soaked paper towel to ease demolding. Use a spoon or food-safe brush to coat the cavities with the melted coating wafers, then freeze for 5 minutes. Add a second thin coat and freeze for 5-10 minutes. Once the coating sets, release the sides of your molds first before pushing out the shapes from the bottom. To fill the cocoa bomb, use 1-2 tbsp of hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows or bits. To adhere the two halves together, wipe one half of the tree shape on a hot plate, hot bowl, or skillet to melt the rim before attaching it to the other half. Dust small details with gold edible metallic luster if desired.
