Learn how to easily make a ghost-themed hot cocoa bomb with these helpful tips, including molding, coating, filling, and assembling techniques. The recipe uses ultra white and orange candy coatings, hot cocoa mix, and marshmallows.
1. Prepare your silicone molds by wiping them with a paper towel saturated with vinegar or alcohol to help achieve a shiny finish for your chocolate or candy melts. Use a ghost-shaped mold if making ghost cocoa bombs.
2. Melt your ultra white and orange candy coatings. Use a brush, spoon, or cakesicle stick to coat the silicone molds. Apply two thin coats for strength, freezing each coat for 5-10 minutes. Repeat for all mold halves.
3. Once the chocolate or candy melts are set, release the sides of your molds first before gently pushing out the shapes from the bottom.
4. To fill one cocoa bomb half, add 2 tablespoons of hot cocoa mix and 2-3 small marshmallows (or 1 large marshmallow).
5. To adhere two halves together, gently wipe the rim of one half on a hot plate, hot bowl, or skillet to slightly melt the edge. Immediately attach it to the other half to seal the cocoa bomb.
