Orange Sugar Cookies!🍊

In the bowl of stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter and one cup of sugar until light and fluffy (apprx. 5 minutes).

Add the eggs, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla; mix until all combined.

Slowly add the flour, baking powder, and salt; mix just until combined.

Remove the mixer’s bowl from the mixer and divide the dough into three parts. Add orange food coloring gel to 1/3 of the dough and red to the second. Keep the remaining dough uncolored. (optionally, you may leave the whole batch of the dough uncolored or add only orange food coloring gel to the entire batch). Cover with kitchen plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Form neat balls from 1/2 tsp of each color of the dough. Place uncolored, orange, and red dough balls by each other, cover with scooped palm of your hand and roll/move around the dough on your work surface inside your palm to combine the colors.

Dip/roll each of the dough balls in remaining (1/2 cup) granulated sugar, place onto your baking mat or parchment paper.

Bake at 350° F for 12-14 minutes until edges are set. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack. Store in airtight container, or package to gift 🍊
